Restaurants are all over Ballito and there is certainly a wide choice to suit all palates. Remember this area in renowned for its authentic Indian curries and Bunny Chows and once again some really good restaurant options are only a short distance away.
For guests looking for an activity-based holiday the area offers a wide range of options including, trail running, MTB, surfing, deep sea fishing, rock and surf fishing, micro-lighting, snorkelling, golf, hiking, bird watching and so much more. King Shaka airport is only 20 minutes away and the magnificent Isimangaliso Wetland Park as well as Imfolozi/Hluhluwe game reserves are a 2 hour drive away making this the perfect hub from which to explore the best of KZN.

Dolphin Coast Tidal Pools

There are 5 tidal pools along the coast between Ballito and Salt Rock. Enjoy an adventure discovering these safe bathing pools which are flushed daily by the changing tides.

Microlight Flights

Get a bird’s eye view of the coastline and countryside with a flip from the Ballito Microlight School. Daily flights weather permitting 7 days a week.

Mountain Biking

Bring your bikes along or hire one and ride a selection of trails at Sugar Rush Park and Holla Trails. From single track to easier jeep track and family routes choose your route and distance.

The whole coast offers good rock and surf and fly fishing. Deep sea ski-boat fishing can also be enjoyed and pelagic species such as Dorado, Tuna and Sailfish are targeted.

Cultural Experiences

Explore the King Shaka heritage route or Shakaland where Zulu culture is experienced. Further afield the historical sites of Anglo Zulu and Anglo Boer battlefields may also be enjoyed at places such as Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift.

Whale & Ocean Safaris

Take a ride out to sea to view the Humpback Whale migration with loads of photographic opportunities. Dolphin watching all year round. Whale season is 1 July – 30 November. This ocean experience can be enjoyed for any occasion.  Be adventurous and do something different. Boats depart from Wilsons Wharf in Durban. Harbour Cruises are also available and all boat trips are weather dependant.
